Optus rocked by another major outage

More than 14,000 Optus customers in Melbourne’s southeast have been left without coverage and are unable to phone emergency services amid a “significant” outage.
In a message on the company’s website, Optus has confirmed it is probing the outage affecting those in the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula areas of Victoria.
It is affecting 14,096 services.
The outage has been attributed to an “aerial fibre break”.
“Calls to emergency services are impacted by this outage,” the message on the website states.
“Optus customers will only be able to call emergency services if they are within coverage of another mobile network or are able to call via wi-fi.”
