Alex Reid, a martial arts star who was married to Katie Price for 11 months, has been rushed to hospital for tests after a terrifying health scare as he waits for results

Katie Price’s ex Alex Reid has been rushed to hospital.
The star, who was married to Pricey for just 11 months in 2010, posted a picture on his Instagram profile from the hospital. He wore a khaki t-shirt and blue trousers as he looked at the camera with a solemn look on his face and a cannula sticking out of his arm.
Reid wrote: “I’ve been in hospital since 9am this morning. I’ve already had a CT scan and I’m now waiting for an MRI to check if there’s a bleed on the posterior part of my brain.”
“I honestly can’t believe how I’ve been walking lately – so ‘punch drunk’ that people keep assuming I’m drunk when I’m out. I’m not. This is just how my body moves these days and it’s a horrible feeling not knowing why.”
“The pain, the imbalance, the uncertainty… it’s all become really hard to live with.”

Alex said that he wasn’t speaking “negatively about martial arts” as it “is his life,” but “after around 300 fights, years of martial arts training and being hit more times than I can count – plus my cauliflower ears to prove it – I want young lads coming up in the sport to start training smarter.”
The sports star then gave an urgent warning to his fellow martial arts enthusiasts: “Wear your headgear. Look after yourselves. Think long-term, not just about the next fight.”

He assured fans that his scans “have shown no tumours,” which is a “massive relief” as his father sadly died age 77 from a brain tumour.
Alex continued: “Now we’re just waiting to see if there’s any bleed or any signs of brain damage that might explain what’s been happening with my walking and balance.”
He hopes to “raise awareness and let people know what really goes on behind closed doors”. Alex wrote: “Combat sports are incredible but your health is everything,” before letting his fans know that he will “keep everyone posted when he gets the results” and thanking his followers for their “messages and support”.
