Anthony Black scores 27, Jalen Suggs ejected in Magic-76ers first half

PHILADELPHIA — Tuesday night’s first half between the Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers featured some fireworks in the form of a career-high point total by Magic guard Anthony Black and the ejection of Magic guard Jalen Suggs for escalating an altercation.
Black surpassed his career-high point total with 4:07 remaining in the second quarter, sparking the Magic on a second-quarter run against the 76ers at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
Black scored his 24th and 25th points of the game on a dunk off a pass by Goga Bitadze, extending Orlando’s lead to 68-49.
Black’s previous career-high point total was 23 points, set on Dec. 19, 2024, and tied on Feb. 23, 2025.

Black, who was the sixth pick in the 2023 draft, has emerged as a key player for the Magic, especially after forward Paolo Banchero suffered a groin injury on Nov. 12. Black has added some scoring to go along with his already formidable defense.
Black ended the first half with 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting from the field, including 4-of-5 shooting from 3-point range.
And he wasn’t the only Magic guard who was cooking in the first half.
Suggs dished out a career-high 11 assists before he picked up two technical fouls for escalating an altercation involving Orlando’s Wendell Carter Jr. and Philadelphia’s Andre Drummond with 26.6 seconds remaining in the second quarter, resulting in Suggs’ ejection from the game.
Carter, Drummond, Philadelphia’s Jabari Walker and Orlando’s Desmond Bane each received one technical foul apiece.
I’ve never seen a guy square up like the Notre Dame logo the way Andre Drummond did to Wendell Carter. Jalen Suggs proves again, he isn’t scared of anyone. #Magic pic.twitter.com/t40eRa8STY

As Suggs walked to the tunnel to go to the Magic locker room, he threw his jersey to a Magic fan in the stands, only to see a Sixers fan snatch it away from the Magic fan.
Orlando leads Philadelphia 86-60 at halftime.
The Magic’s 51 points in the second quarter set a new franchise record for points in any quarter.
