Is Elaine Hendrix Married? Her Relationship Quotes Through the Years

Elaine Hendrix doesn’t need to be married to live a happy life.
Hendrix has never tied the knot, choosing instead to keep the details of her love life private. While Hendrix is best known for playing Meredith Blake in The Parent Trap, the actress has been candid about how she couldn’t relate to her character’s desire to settle down in her 20s.
“Clearly, [my character] Meredith Blake is not an average 26-year-old,” Hendrix said in a 2021 interview with Insider. “All of that I couldn’t relate to. But how together she was and how ambitious she was – that I could definitely relate to.”
Over the years, Hendrix has maintained that she did not see herself getting married or having children. Instead she is a loving mom to the multiple pets she’s rescued.

How an Ex Influenced Her Lifestyle
Hendrix shared that she was inspired by an ex to get into yoga.
“At the time, I was dating someone, we were into yoga together,” she told VegNews in October 2025. “It was really more centered around diet and spirituality, and I wasn’t thinking about the impact on animals at that time. I think that, like most people, I grew up loving animals my entire life, but I just had no idea what was happening to them.”
Not Wanting a Husband and Kids
In an August 2025 interview with Bustle, Hendrix opened up about how she never saw herself having a traditional family.
“I did think I was going to meet someone and be with them forever, but I knew that I did not want to have kids or get married,” she reflected. “Sometimes I’m like, ‘Would a kid be nice now that I’m getting older?’ But I have so much freedom. I’ll just pay somebody to take care of me. It’s fine. But I was a little more boy crazy back then. I wanted to be with someone, whereas now I’m like, ‘Please don’t touch me.’”
She Once Dated Bob Saget
While Hendrix has been quiet about her previous relationships, she previously shared that she dated Bob Saget and paid tribute to him when he died in January 2022.
“Very sad to hear about Bob. We actually dated back in the day (as you can see how young we were in this photo). He was a nice guy,” she wrote via Instagram alongside a throwback photo of the pair. “It mattered to him that he be thought of as one … until he got on stage. Then all bets were off. He was raw, savage even, and one of the deeply funniest people I’ve ever seen.”
Hendrix added that the “world has lost a comedy giant” and she sent her “love to his friends and family.”
Taking a Step Back From Codependency
In a chat with Julianne Hough, Hendrix opened up about how she maintains her independence after struggling with it in the past.

“I feel like at this point in my life, I’m doing it in a healthy way whereas … I think it can be an overused, oversimplified term but in a codependent way, you know, in an unhealthy way,” she said while appearing on “The Morning After (Show) with Julianne Hough” in October 2025. “I used to want to feel like I could save other people and save other things.”
Hendrix added that it took her some time to learn it is not her “responsibility” to fix others.
“That’s part of being human, we are not meant to be isolated beings,” she explained.
