Oregon vs. San Diego State Live Blog: Updates and analysis

The Oregon Ducks men’s basketball squad will be in action against the San Diego State Aztecs on Tuesday night in Las Vegas as part of the 2025 Players Era Festival.
The Ducks came into the tournament as the reigning champions, yet fell to the No. 22 Auburn Tigers on Monday, 84-73.
A recurring issue for Oregon has been carelessness with the basketball, and it reared its ugly head once again, as they committed 18 turnovers against the Tigers. Each of Nate Bittle and Jackson Shelstad had off games, with the latter converting on just four-of-17 shots from the field and scoring nine points. Takai Simpkins led the way with 22 points on five triples, but it wasn’t enough in the end.
The Ducks will need them both of Bittle and Shelstad to have better showings against San Diego State, who is also coming off a loss of their own in their Players Era Festival debut. They were no match for the No. 7 Michigan Wolverines, as they were dispatched by a score of 94-54.
That’s not to say the Aztecs aren’t talented, as top players Miles Byrd and Magoon Gwath had extremely tough outings, combining for just 12 points. The Ducks’ defense will need to be keyed in on those two in order to come away with the victory.
