IND vs SA | Twitter vents as Sai Sudharsan and KL Rahul play game of “you first” to nearly cost India
Stakes are a funny thing — the higher they are, the more the chances of both a miracle and an all-time blooper (sometimes all at once). KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan nearly produced the latter in Guwahati on Tuesday as lack of communication left them both stranded during a completely innocuous play.
South Africa ended Day 4 at Baraspara Cricket Stadium just eight wickets away from securing their first-ever clean sweep on Indian soil after another solid effort by the batters posed the hosts a mammoth target of 549. Marco Jansen scalped Yashasvi Jaiswal with the new ball before Simon Harmer produced a dream off-spinner’s delivery to breach KL Rahul’s gate as the pitch continued to wear down, leaving Sai Sudharsan and Kuldeep Yadav as the incumbent batters at Stumps. Funnily enough, the situation could have been even worse for the Men in Blue and all on their own accord, with a lack of focus nearly costing them a precious wicket at a crucial juncture of play.
Sudharsan arrived to the crease in the seventh over and was immediately faced with the stiff challenge of surviving the final five deliveries of Jansen’s new-ball spell. With four down and one to go, the tall left-arm quick sent a short-of-a-length delivery angling into the southpaw and Sudharsan instinctively shaped up for a nudge off his legs. However, the steep angle of the delivery made him decide against it at the last moment and he lifted his hands to allow the red cherry to deflect off his hip and beat Kyle Verreyne to go streaming towards the outfield. Sudharsan immediately was on the look for runs but Rahul was walking casually at the other end as he gestured something to his partner, possibly pointing out that the ball was inevitable headed for the fence. Sudharsan thereby broke his stride to and sauntered upto the halfway mark before turning around and beginning to walk back to his crease. Yet, as soon as the youngster turned around, the SG stopped in its tracks and prompted Rahul to sprint towards the other end for a single. However, the veteran realized in the nick of time Sudharsan was not reciprocating, and hurriedly began to backtrack while Sudharsan made ground himself.
The duo shared an animated series of gestures thereafter but with no real damage done, Twitter chose to see the funny side of things.
Lol!
Strange Call
Leave everything and explain this.
Maybe Coach GG stopped Sai Sudharsan and KL Rahul from taking singles on byes.
Can any cricket expert explain this?

If KL Rahul, Sai Sudarshan are not dropped from Indian Team after this SA Test Series, then i will stop following Indian Cricket. An average of 36 in 67 test matches of KL Rahul and an average of 28 of Sai Sudarshan? How do they even make this team.. #Cricket #TestCricket #BCCI
