Shaq slams players and coaches arguing for less NBA games

Ralphie Aversa spoke with NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal about players and coaches calling for a reduced season to help prevent injuries.

Sports Seriously

Kawhi Leonard is expected to return for the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday for their road game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to multiple reports.

Leonard has missed the Clippers’ last 10 games. He was listed as out on the team’s injury report with a right ankle sprain ahead of Saturday’s game against the Charlotte Hornets.

Clippers coach Ty Lue told reporters that the two-time NBA champion participated during practice on Wednesday. Leonard is expected to participate in pregame warmups to test his right ankle.

The Clippers have struggled to start the season, going 2-8 during Leonard’s 10-game absence. The Clippers earned a 131-116 victory over the Hornets on Saturday. The only other win during that stretch was a 133-127 double-overtime road victory against the Dallas Mavericks.

Kawhi Leonard stats

Leonard has averaged 24.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists in six games played this season.

Leonard finished as the team’s leading scorer in two of the six games he played, both of which resulted in wins for L.A.

When do the Clippers play next?

The L.A. Clippers will play the Cleveland Cavaliers at Rocket Arena on Sunday, Nov. 23, at 6 p.m. ET (3 p.m. PT).
