HBO’s ‘Task’ renewed for season 2; Pennsylvania will provide nearly $50M for filming

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — “Task” is returning to HBO, and a new season means new economic benefits for the Philadelphia area.
The hit crime drama, which is set in Delaware County, has been given the green light for a second season.

Governor Josh Shapiro’s office says the state is investing nearly $50 million into the new season through the the Film Production Tax Credit Program.

Season 2 will be filmed entirely in Southeastern Pennsylvania, creating more than 3,700 jobs and bringing an estimated $149 million to the local economy.
Creator Brad Ingelsby is a Berwyn, Pennsylvania native who’s also known for the hit show, “Mare of Easttown.”
