Major fast food chain McDonald’s has revealed it is axing 11 items, including two burgers, from its menu from next week.

The chain has revealed it will be removing items from its “World Menu Heist” menu, which was introduced to restaurants for the first time in October.

This move is expected to see items such as the Maple BBQ Double Quarter Pounder, Pineapple McSpicy, Garlic & Black Pepper McNuggets and Soy Dip all removed from UK menus, The Sun reports.

Completing this, shoppers will no longer be able to order Mac N Cheese Triangles, Sour Cream and Black Pepper Shaker Fries, the Chocolate Pretzel McFlurry, or the Caramel Pretzel McFlurry. The Choco Caramel Pie, Sakura X Sprite and Apple X Sprite will also disappear off menus.

The popular Honeycomb Latte, which was not part of the “World Menu Heist” menu, is also expected to be removed from menus from next Tuesday.

The change comes after McDonalds announced last week that it would be launching 18 items across menus for fans to enjoy in the run up to Christmas.

From Wednesday (November 26) McDonalds will be launching a range of festive items including seasonal-themed fries, burgers, drinks, desserts and sides for diners to try.Among the new menu additions is The Grinch Meal, which is available to get as a Big Mac, McPlant meal or as a nine chicken nuggets meal. The deal also includes the McDonald’s new Grinched McShaker Fries, which feature a gherkin flavoured twist on the restaurant’s classic, as well as a drink and a pair of limited-edition Mismatched Grinch x McDonald’s Socks.

A range of new festive-themed drinks will also be coming to restaurant’s as part of the chain’s new menu. These include the Frozen Grinch Lemonade, which features a Grinch-green melon swirl, as well as two cosy winter warmers – the Coconut Latte and Coconut Hot Chocolate.

For shoppers fancying something cold, despite the icy weather, the chain will also be launching the Mischief McFlurry and the Chocolate Brownie McFlurry. The Mischief McFlurry will feature festive smarties, Christmas trees and a fruity strawberry sauce while the Chocolate Brownie McFlurry will fuse chocolate brownie pieces and chocolate sauce with the chain’s classic ice cream.

The fast food chain will also be introducing the Grumble Pie, packed with apple, cranberries and custard, all wrapped in a crispy green pastry. On top of this, McDonald’s also announced the new Cheesy Chicken Stack will be making its festive debut in restaurants this winter, featuring an 100% chicken breast fillet in a crispy, crunchy coating, layered with cheese, lettuce and a warming chipotle salsa.

Returning to restaurants is also the Big Tasty, with fans able to also size-up to the Double Big Tasty, alongside the popular Cheese Melt Dippers.
