John Kiely is clearly intent on shaking things up within the Limerick camp ahead of the 2026 inter-county season, already making a number of key changes to the setup before the turn of the year.
Some high profile players will not be part of the panel next season. Shane Dowling opted to step away from the squad after making his return as a goalkeeper, while 2021 All-Star Séamus Flanagan has been axed from the group.
The latter has now made a shock move into management, coaching Tipperary club Boherlahan/Dualla next season.
While there will be some notable absentees for Limerick in 2026, at least one familiar face is reportedly set to return to the setup.

Major Coup For Limerick As Familiar Face Returns To Setup For 2026
The Irish Examiner are reporting that sports psychologist Caroline Currid is set to make a return to the Limerick setup.
Currid previously experienced quite a bit of success working with John Kiely’s group, having been part of their All-Ireland wins in 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Interestingly, she was not involved in the three seasons they have failed to lift the Liam MacCarthy during that period.
Kiely clearly feels that the Sligo woman’s expertise would be a big addition to the team once again.
Caroline Currid most recently played a role in the success of Galway club Moycullen, who recently won a senior football county title and are currently preparing for a provincial final.
Limerick will be hoping that the county will return to their previous standards in 2026, having fallen short of expectations in each of the last two seasons. Regaining the All-Ireland trophy will clearly be the aim, although another Munster title would put them in an excellent position heading into the business end of the summer.
