“Keeps on delivering when the team needs him the most” – Fans hail Al-Nassr star as they defeat Istiklol 4-0 in Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence

Al-Nassr fans are hailing Joao Felix for stepping up and delivering for the club in Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence. They are delighted with the signing of the Portuguese star from Chelsea in the summer.
Felix scored a goal and assisted once as Al-Nassr beat FC Istiklol 4-0 in the AFC Cup group game. The former Barcelona loanee opened the scoring from the spot before helping them seal the win with an assist in the second half.
Thanks for the submission!
Ronaldo was rested once again, as the Portuguese forward has been sitting out of the away matches in the Asian competition.
Fans have since taken to X (formerly Twitter), praising Felix for his performance. Many believe that he has been the club’s best signing since Cristiano Ronaldo and posted:
Al-Nassr coach Jorge Jesus spoke about Felix earlier this season, claiming that the former Chelsea star is a great player. He spoke about at the Portugal Football Globes 2025 ceremony and said (via GOAL):
“Joao Felix is a great player. During this interregnum in his career, Bruno Lage and I were the ones who believed in him and really wanted him. He’s a talented player who chose the best league. It was in Portugal that I became known to world football, but the Saudi Arabian is good for 50 countries. He chose a league much stronger and more competitive than the Portuguese league.”
Joao Felix has scored 16 goals in 18 matches for Al-Nassr, while also assisting five times in all competitions. He managed just 11 goals and two assists in 40 matches for Chelsea (in both spells) before joining the Cristiano Ronaldo-led side.
Al-Nassr manager heaps praise on Cristiano Ronaldo’s national team manager
Al-Nassr manager Jorge Jesus has praised Portugal manager Roberto Martinez for using Joao Felix with Cristiano Ronaldo. He claimed that the Spaniard has managed to bring out the best in both players and said the Portugal Football Globes 2025 ceremony:
“Martinez is being smart. In the very first game, he put Felix and Cristiano together, as he does with other players from other clubs. National teams depend heavily on the clubs where the players are, and the coaches don’t have much time to work with these players,” he added. “Cristiano is a player in every way, both athletically and as a person. He has an intelligence beyond football.”
Cristiano Ronaldo and Joao Felix have played 53 matches together for Portugal and Al-Nassr. The two have combined for just six goals, with the former Manchester United superstar scoring just two of them.
