ARC Raiders Players Want The Opposite of Stella Montis for Its Next Map

A large portion of the ARC Raiders community is calling for Embark Studios to make the game’s next map less like Stella Montis, with a stronger focus on PvE scenarios and more ARC to take down. The discussion around PvE and PvP in ARC Raiders continues to rage on weeks after the game’s release, but it looks like many players are growing tired of having to take on other players and want to see a map that is filled with so many ARC enemies that players have no choice but to work together to take them down.

Embark Studios has already made it clear that ARC Raiders will be a long-term game, with the studio aiming to support its latest title for a full decade, which means there will likely be tons of new maps added to the game in the coming months and years. As of writing, ARC Raiders currently has five maps for players to jump into, with each one offering its own unique style of gameplay. Dam Battlegrounds is the lowest difficulty map, with far fewer ARC enemies than others, such as Buried City or Blue Gate. Players will often report that the map is generally more laid-back when it comes to PvP, likely due to the fact that it is the only map available to new players until they complete a certain number of matches.

ARC Raiders Want More PvE on the Next Map

ARC Raiders‘ newest map, Stella Montis, was added to the game earlier this month following its first community event, which required players to donate a certain number of resources to unlock it. While many have praised the intense action that Stella Montis offers, the community now appears to be calling for the game’s next map to be the exact opposite. In a new post on Reddit, which has garnered over 3,000 upvotes and hundreds of comments at the time of writing, user DptBear has called for developer Embark Studios to make the next map “so dangerously populated with ARC” that it requires players to work together in a giant cooperative PvE raid. The user points out how Stella Montis is lacking in terms of ARC enemies, and that the community needs a place to take all of their high-tier gear that isn’t worth using in a PvP battle to “fight an oppressive wave of ARC invaders.”

Plenty of other players seem to be in agreement with the post, with users saying they “love the PvP” but also “love this idea,” while others say it would be fun. If Embark were to add such a map to the game, it would be a drastic change from Stella Montis, which was added to the game as part of ARC Raiders‘ big North Line update on November 13. The map is set inside a mountainside research facility tucked deep in the northern mountain range, giving it a tremendously different feel from the other maps in the game. It also drastically changes the gameplay by including a two-layer design, featuring an upper and lower floor. Tight corridors, a plethora of rooms, and the ability for vertical play have made the map heaven for PvP lovers, but not everyone is a fan of the experience.

Many have pointed out that Stella Montis is a great change of pace from the usual “don’t shoot” mindset found on the likes of Dam Battlegrounds, but it does appear to be lacking in terms of ARC (outside of the terrifying new Shredder enemy, of course). While players aren’t calling for more enemies to be added to the map, they do believe a map that features tons of ARC enemies would give players no choice but to fight alongside each other or risk being eliminated by the true enemy. Adding such a map to the game would be a great way to keep everyone happy. Those who are looking for a more PvP-centered match can jump into Stella Montis, while those who want to fight against the ARC alongside other players could jump into the dedicated PvE map.

ARC Raiders started out as a PvE-only game, before development pivoted to the PvPvE extraction shooter we have today. That means there’s a chance Embark is considering a more dedicated PvE map/mode in the future, but it did state that the original design “didn’t work.” As for what the future holds for the studio’s smash-hit title, a new patch is planned to release in December, known as the Cold Snap update. According to the 2025 roadmap for ARC Raiders, the update will add a new Snowfall Map Condition, Flickering Flames Event, a new Raider Deck, Quests, and more. A release date for the update is still unknown.
