TWO RIVERS – The south side of Two Rivers was experiencing a “widespread” power outage Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 26.
The city reported around 3 p.m. on its Facebook page that a tree down on utility lines caused the outage.
Crews were working to remove the tree and make repairs.
No further information was immediately available.
The outage came with the area under a Hazardous Weather Outlook. The National Weather Service was calling for light snow of accumulations of 1-4 inches combined with gusty northwest winds of 35-50 mph Wednesday. The conditions were expected to create hazardous travel at times.
The forecast for Wednesday night called for a chance of snow in the evening with considerable blowing and drifting snow expected. Lows were expected to be in the middle 20s with west wind of 25-35 mph and gusts up to 50 mph decreasing to 40 mph after midnight.
Thanksgiving Day on Thursday is expected to be windy and partly sunny with some blowing and drifting snow. The afternoon brings a 20% chance of snow showers with northwest wind of 20-30 mph and gusts reaching 40 mph.
