Key Stories to Watch
- The Avalanche are looking for their 10th straight win, something they have done three times in franchise history. The last time they did it was during the 2021-22 season, which ended with a Stanley Cup championship.
- Joel Kiviranta makes his return after missing 17 games. The veteran forward will fill out the fourth line with center Zakhar Bardakov and the most recent AHL call up, Ivan Ivan.
- Mackenzie Blackwood will face his former team for the second time this season. Blackwood is 3-0-1 since returning, with his one OT loss coming to these very same Sharks on Nov. 1.
- Macklin Celebrini has continued his excellent start to the season. His 34 points are second in the NHL behind Nathan MacKinnon.
- The Sharks are 7-3-0 in their last 10 games, and goalie Yaroslav Askarov, who starts tonight, is also a big reason why.
