The NBA action on Wednesday, Nov. 26 keeps rolling on with a contest at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City where the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder are hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves for the first of four games this season between these division foes who faced off in last season’s Western Conference Finals.
This NBA game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN Deportes. Fans looking to watch can do so for free by using DIRECTV, which offers a free trial, or FuboTV, which also offers a free trial as well as up to $30 off your first month. This meeting between the 17-1 Thunder and 19-7 Timberwolves is also part of the NBA Cup, which is creeping up on the end of Group Play. OKC is at the top of West Group A at 2-0, tied with the Phoenix Suns but leading thanks to a 40-point edge in point differential. Minnesota could make things interesting with a win, as it sits at 2-1 in NBA Cup action and could either still win the group with some help, or advance as the top second-place finisher thanks to the +53 point differential the Timberwolves have entering Wednesday, which only trails the Thunder’s mark of +63 in the West.
Going into this meeting though, Minnesota has lost two straight, first tow the Suns, 114-113 in an NBA Cup matchups, and most recently to the Sacramento Kings, 117-112 in overtime on Monday. Anthony Edwards had a game-high 43 in the loss at Sacramento while also getting three steals and a block to go with seven rebounds and four assists. Julius Randle had 17 points, 10 boards and five helpers while Donte DiVincenzo matched those 17 points from the starting lineup and Naz Reid chipped in 15 and seven boards from the bench. Rudy Gobert also had a double-double, grabbing a team-high 13 rebounds and scoring 11 points while also swatting a pair of shots for blocks.
The Thunder have won nine straight, giving them their longest winning streak of the season and the second-longest in all of the NBA both for the whole season and actively, trailing only the 13-game winning streak the Detroit Pistons brought into Wednesday. Oklahoma City picked up a 122-95 win in its last game on Sunday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander went for 37 with seven assists and was the only starter in double figures as his squad improved to 8-0 at home. Ajay Mitchell had 20 off the bench and Isaiah Joe added 10, also from off the pine.
