What Black Friday deals are available on the Xbox Series X and Series S Consoles?
There are some savings available on Xbox consoles, but they’re always competitively priced throughout the year so Black Friday discounts are usually fairly minimal. We’ve highlighted the best of them here and will add more as soon as they become available.
What about deals on the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally?
One of the great things about the Xbox platform is that it’s available across a wide range of devices, such as some of the best gaming laptops in the Black Friday sale. You can even log into your Xbox account on any compatible PC (including handhelds like the ROG Xbox Ally) and fire up any game badged as being a ‘Play Anywhere’ title.
But the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally is something of a unique device, as it’s the first handheld console to be made in collaboration with Microsoft. As a result you have Xbox controller style grips, a familiar button layout (including the iconic dedicated X button) and the Xbox user interface. We’re keeping an eye on Xbox Ally availability and will include any Black Friday deals here.
Is it better to gift games as a digital download or a disc?
We think that it’s better to buy a game on disc as it will give you something to wrap up and give, especially for Christmas. Most games on disc need a download as soon as they’re inserted into a console, but some don’t require that – which means they can be played right away without the need for an internet connection or a lengthy download.

When is Black Friday 2025?
Next Friday (28 November) is the official Black Friday itself. However, we recommend not waiting until then to buy as Black Friday has grown from what started as a single sale day to an event lasting several weeks. There are many tech deals available throughout November and into December.

In the meantime, here are some extra tips to help you find the best Black Friday deals:
Set deal alerts: Subscribe to gaming retailer newsletters and enable notifications in shopping apps. This will tip you off to flash sales and exclusive time-limited deals the moment they appear.
Make a wish list: Avoid being overwhelmed by the number of Xbox offers by adding your most-wanted games and accessories to an online wish list (or even, on sites like Amazon, add them to your basket). Many retailers will notify you of any price changes or if your selected items go on sale.
Use price tracking tools: Resources like CamelCamelCamel and Keepa let you track the price history of a certain gaming product, so you can be sure that you’re getting a true Black Friday deal compared to its price at other times of the year.
Compare across retailers: When we recommend products we always look for the best offer from reputable retailers, but if you’re looking for something we haven’t featured in our guide we recommend that you check the price at several retailers to nab the highest saving.
Are Black Friday Xbox deals the best deals?
As with all big annual sales events that offer deals on the latest gaming tech, some sales might outdo others depending on the item you’re looking for. When it comes to Xbox games and accessories like controllers and headsets, they can frequently change in price as newer models and titles are released. The good thing about Black Friday is that gaming deals are hardly a rarity, with a lot more offers to be found than at many other times of the year. If you spot an exceptional deal on a great console or accessory (or a new title from your favorite game franchise) we recommend acting quickly before it’s gone.
Is it worth waiting for Black Friday for Xbox deals?
There’s every chance that you’ll find an Xbox product on offer before the arrival of Black Friday itself on the 28th of November 2025. Several games, controllers and headsets are already heavily discounted as Black Friday sales are already well underway. And if you’re thinking about waiting until the 28th in case the price drops even further, remember that many retailers guarantee that their current prices won’t drop (or that they will price match competitors). So, check the details – but our advice is that if you find a gaming laptop with the perfect specifications for your First Person Shooters, RPGs and adventure titles, snap it up while you can. For extra peace of mind, depending on the retailer’s guarantees you may also be able to claim back the difference even if the price does change.
Is it better to shop on Black Friday or Cyber Monday?
Historically, Cyber Monday was viewed as a day of specifically tech-based sales. However, with Black Friday now taking over most of November, that’s less applicable. Amazon started its Black Friday sale on 20 November and the deals that it and others are offering are likely to remain in place until after Cyber Monday.
More Black Friday FAQs
Is it better to buy an Xbox deal on Prime Day or Black Friday?
As with all deals, it all depends on which products are available at the time and how much of a discount they have. However, you’re much more likely to find the right Xbox deal for you on Black Friday as there are usually more products available from various retailers as well as Amazon. So if you already have an accessory, game or even a console in mind you may well find it (or perhaps one with a better spec) in the Black Friday sale.
Can you see Black Friday deals in advance?
No. However, you can get a good sense of the sort of items that will be on offer based on previous sales. In addition, a number of sales begin in advance of Black Friday itself (Friday 28 November).
Are Black Friday deals the same throughout, or do they get better?
Black Friday deals can vary throughout the month of November with most retailers tending to save their best discounts until the last two weeks of the event (17 November – 1 December).
That being said, this is retailer dependent. Some brands go early with their best deals, with those prices staying the same for the entirety of November.
Cyber Monday can also provide further discounts for some brands. However, in our experience as tech shopping writers, these offers are only marginally better and stock can be limited. If you’ve done your research and used a price tracker tool, we’d recommend buying the product you want when you see it, rather than waiting until the final moments to avoid disappointment.
When does Black Friday end?
Black Friday officially ends at midnight on Monday 1 December, with Cyber Monday marking the end of the sale event.
However, some retailers keep their discounts running a little longer, so you may spot some deals continuing into that first week of December.
Will there be Xbox deals in December?
Although Black Friday will be over by then, some deals may still last into December and the Christmas period. Console bundle and accessory deals may disappear, but games often stay discounted. Digital storefronts also tend to have winter sale events in December.
