Derrick Henry passes Jim Brown in the Ravens star’s run toward history

Derrick Henry passes Jim Brown on the all-time rushing yards list as he continues his run towards immortality.

Pro football’s Hall of Fame is hallowed ground. We’ve met thousands of players during the NFL’s 106-year history, but landing in Canton, Ohio, means one has reached another level in the minds and imaginations of football fanatics.

There are only 382 members in The Hall after the induction of the 2025 class. That’s how exclusive this fraternity is, but one thing we’re sure of is this. Baltimore Ravens star Derrick Henry, at some point, will become one of the lifetime guests once his bust is carved.

Thanksgiving allowed us another reason to be thankful for the living legend. He has surpassed one of the legends who has moved on.

Jim Brown ran for 12,312 yards during his nine-year career (1957-1965). Henry entered Week 13 of the NFL’s slate needing 19 to pass him on history’s ladder. Mission accomplished… The King passed Marcus Allen, Edgerrin James, and Marshall Faulk vs. the Jets in Week 12. After a 28-yard first-quarter touchdown, he now sits 11th on pro football’s list of all-time leading rushers.

Henry now eyes the top ten. Standing in front of him now are Tony Dorsett (12,739), Eric Dickerson (13,259), Jerome Bettis (13,662), LaDanian Tomlinson (13,684), Curtis Martin (14,101), Adrian Peterson (14,918), Barry Sanders (15,269), Frank Gore (16,000), Walter Payton (16,726), and Emmitt Smith (18,355).
