Watch This | Artificial grass wall at Causeway Bay’s Lee Theatre engulfed in flames: Cigarette butt suspected

At 12:53 p.m. today (Nov. 25), a fire broke out on an artificial grass wall outside Lee Theatre, located at 99 Percival Street, Causeway Bay. The fire quickly intensified, spreading upwards within three minutes to reach several stories high. Firefighters arrived promptly and managed to extinguish the flames after approximately 50 minutes of effort. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. However, preliminary findings suggest that at around 12:13 p.m., a man was caught on CCTV pressing a lit cigarette butt into the artificial turf. This action is suspected to have triggered the blaze.
