Will Arnett Says Girlfriend Carolyn Murphy’s Generous Spirit Is ‘One of the Many Things I Love About Her’ (Exclusive)

There’s no denying the sparks between Will Arnett and Carolyn Murphy.

Speaking to PEOPLE at the 2025 GQ Men of the Year event, held at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood on Nov. 13, Arnett, 55, opened up about his newly public relationship with Murphy, 51. PEOPLE confirmed the Arrested Development alum and the supermodel — who attended the event alongside Arnett — were dating in early September.

Arnett tells PEOPLE his relationship with Murphy works because of the natural connection between them. “I think that there’s just an ease from the moment that we started hanging out,” the Twisted Metal star says.

He adds, “We have a real ease with each other and she’s just such a generous-of-spirit person, and that’s what I love. One of the many things that I love about her.”

Arnett also shared that his relationship with Murphy came to be when they were “set up” through a mutual friend.

PEOPLE confirmed the couple was dating on Sept. 5, following the actor’s split from his longtime partner Alessandra Brawn late in 2024.

About a week later, Arnett and Murphy were seen together on a date night during New York Fashion Week on Sept. 12. The pair was photographed, arm-in-arm, at a presentation for designer Jenni Kayne in SoHo.

On Oct. 14, the couple made their red carpet debut at the premiere of Arnett’s Is This Thing On? at the BFI London Film Festival in England. Posing for photos, Arnett and Murphy wore coordinated outfits for the occasion: Arnett in a tan suit and a black button-down shirt, with Murphy in an off-the-shoulder black midi dress and black heels.

Arnett and Murphy have the experience of parenthood in common. Arnett shares Denny, 5, with Brawn, as well as sons Archie and Abel — 16 and 15, respectively — with ex-wife and actress Amy Poehler. Murphy is mother to son Dylan Blue, 24.
