At the end of every year, your social media feed is likely filled with posts about people’s most listened to songs and artists thanks to the annual Spotify Wrapped and Apple Music Replay.
Both streaming services offer its users a chance to look back at their listening habits and see the top songs of the year. There’s also Spotify Wrapped Mapped, which shows the top songs in various regions (“Like Crazy” by Jimin was a hit in Los Angeles last year).
Last year, Spotify Wrapped dropped on Dec. 4, just a day after Apple Music Replay came out.
In 2024, Taylor Swift was Spotify’s top global artist with more than 26.6 billion streams globally while “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter was the top streamed song globally. Other top-streamed global artists included Bad Bunny and The Weeknd. Meanwhile, “Not Like Us” by Kendrick Lamar was the top streamed song globally on Apple Music.
Big moments in music this year include Swift and Lady Gaga dropping highly anticipated albums “The Life of a Showgirl” and “Mayhem” respectively, the soundtrack from “KPop Demon Hunters” dominating the charts and all-girl group Katseye seeing virality with “Gabriela” and “Gnarly.”

Spotify has not announced when this year’s Spotify Wrapped will be released. But looking at dates in recent years shows it’ll tends to be released in late November or early December:

When does Spotify Wrapped stop counting?
Each year around the time Spotify Wrapped is expected to be released, users try to figure out until when their data is collected through. Will it, for example, capture all the Christmas music someone may listen to nonstop at the beginning of December? While Spotify has largely been tight-lipped about this, it has previously said that it continues to track user data past Halloween. A Spotify official has previously told Mashable that they collect data “up until a few weeks before we launch the Wrapped product.”
How to get my Spotify Wrapped
Assuming how it rolls out is the same as last year, you’re first going to need a Spotify account and “a few hours with the songs and podcasts you love” to get a personalized Spotify Wrapped. Spotify recommends users ensure their Spotify app is current to get “a fully optimized Wrapped experience.” Visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and see if your Spotify app has the option to hit the update button.

Spotify rebranded its Year in Music, first released in 2015, to Wrapped in 2016, according to the streaming platform.
What is Apple Music Replay?
Like Wrapped, Apple Music Replay is an opportunity for Apple Music users to see their listening habits for the year. While the steaming platform already has available to users their monthly listening habits through October, it doesn’t appear that Apple Music has its year-end Replay for 2025 out yet. Last year, Apple Music Replay dropped in early December and in 2023, it came out in late November.
