Five Black Friday streaming deals to help you save on Apple TV, HBO Max, Hulu, and more

Savvy streamers know that Thanksgiving weekend is a great time of year to score big savings, as services tend to drop enticing Black Friday deals to bring in new (and returning) subscribers.

In a special edition of our weekend streaming guide, let’s take a look at what some of the top platforms like Apple TV, HBO Max, Hulu, and more are offering this year.

If you need an excuse to check out Apple TV’s impressive library of hit shows like “Severance,” “Shrinking,” and “Slow Horses,” this deal is for you. For Black Friday, eligible new and returning users can snag the streaming service for just $5.99 a month for six months (after that time period, the price goes back to $12.99 a month). The offer is available through Dec. 1.

“Good Morning America” revealed a special offer for its viewers on Monday, providing early access to a bundle for Disney+ and Hulu (all three properties are owned by the Walt Disney Company). According to the show’s post online, eligible new and returning subscribers can get Disney+ and Hulu together (with ads) for $4.99 a month for a year (the price reverts to its $12.99 a month price tag or the user’s then-current regular monthly price after the 12 months are up). The deal was first made available to “GMA” viewers on Monday before the promotion opened to the wider public on Tuesday. The bundle deal runs until Dec. 1.

Eligible new and returning customers can score a pretty sweet deal this Black Friday thanks to HBO Max. The streaming service, home to everything from “The Pitt” to “Game of Thrones,” is offering its basic plan with ads for just $2.99 a month for 12 months, a 70 percent discount according to a press release. The offer is available through Dec. 1.

Paramount+/Peacock with Walmart+

Walmart+ has quite the offer going this Black Friday, with an annual membership to their shopping service available for just $49 (a 50 percent savings) for eligible subscribers. While perks like free delivery, early access to discounts, and other savings are all well and good, the promotion also includes access to Paramount+ or Peacock. Users can switch every 90 days between the ad-supported version of either service. The deal ends Dec. 2.

Prime Video subscription add-ons

Prime Video users have access to a slew of deals for add-on subscription services as part of Amazon’s Black Friday promotion through Dec. 1. Highlights include AMC+ for $1.75 a month for two months, BritBox for $2.75 a month for two months, and (for anime fans) Crunchyroll for $2.99 a month for two months. Prime Video users can get up to $30 off an annual League Pass subscription, and up to $30 in Prime Video credit after signing up.
