Airbus latest: Software issue hits thousands of planes – as passengers warned of disruption

The following airlines have been affected by the ongoing software issue to varying degrees:
- Wizz Air
- British Airways
- EasyJet
- Avianca
- American Airlines
- Air India
- Lufthansa
The level of impact is different for different companies.
It is understood, for example, that British Airways does have three aircraft affected, but because the number is so few, it doesn’t envision any operational impact.
EasyJet says it expects the problem to lead to “some disruption” and adds it will inform customers directly if they are affected.
American Airlines says it quickly identified 340 A320 aircraft that might be affected after being made aware of the problem.
It adds that it has begun completing the software update and expects the “vast majority” to be complete either today or tomorrow.
Wizz Air says some of its flights over the weekend may be affected, while Air India warns the issue could lead to delays.
