Avianca LifeMiles Cyber Weekend: Up To 150% Buy Miles Bonus Through December 3, 2025

Avianca, a Star Alliance airline, has launched a buy miles Cyber Day Promotion with up to 150% Bonus for LifeMiles purchases made through December 3, 2025.
LifeMiles members can buy up to 200,000 miles (before any possible bonus) in a transaction and up to 500K miles in any calendar year before the bonus.
You can access this offer on the LifeMiles website here.
LifeMiles is still useful because the program doesn’t levy these pesky fuel surcharges for redemptions but availability might be spotty as the LM search engine doesn’t always reflect the same availability as other Star Alliance carrier programs.
This is the bonus schedule for the 2025 CYBER SALE:
- Buy 1,000-25,000 miles, 140% bonus
- Buy 25,000-50,000 miles, 145% bonus
- Buy 51,000-200,000 miles, 150% bonus
Price when buying 100,000 Miles, under the 150% threshold:
Under this sale, LifeMiles, when purchased at a 150% bonus, cost 1.32 US cents each. The lowest price Avianca previously sold LifeMiles at was 1.17 cents each, so this is not very good in the broader sense.
I’m sure there will be a better offer again at some point in the future. Considering this is their famous “Cyber Weekend” offer, I would have expected something better.
Purchased Miles Elite Qualifying?
Avianca promotes the purchase of miles as partially elite qualifying, which is the case. However, you also need Avianca flights before you reach any status with them.

I recently covered a question from a reader about how risky it is to purchase LifeMiles:
Reader Question: How Risky Is The Purchase Of Avianca LifeMiles These Days?
I want to highlight that there are many sales for regular revenue fares as well and it might be better to buy a revenue-based ticket in many cases rather than going through a mileage program.
Conclusion
Lifemiles can be handy for premium cabin redemptions and are usually the cheapest Star Alliance miles one can buy outright.
The number of miles required for various LifeMiles awards has changed recently, so it’s advisable to check the rates and especially availability. You may also sometimes encounter issues booking Star Alliance awards using LifeMiles.
Overall, I always recommend comparing the revenue fares and mileage prices. There is also the risk of technical issues with Lifemiles, so if in doubt always be careful before investing a lot of money into buying miles.
