At 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, the city will turn on over one million Christmas lights within Central Park at the exact same time.
“Our operations team has been working over the past two months to set up all of these lights,” Jeep Wentsch, with College Station Parks and Recreation, said. “So they’ve been working through the rain, the heat, the cold, whatever the crazy Texas weather brings out at us. Our parks maintenance and operations staff has been working for the last two months to put all this together for everyone.”

College Station Parks and Recreation said there are lights set up throughout the buildings and the different trails. Wentsch said don’t forget about the 90-foot Christmas tree either.
The city said the family-friendly event is a great way to kick off the holiday season.
If you plan on writing a letter to Santa, College Station Parks and Recreation said you bring it to “Lights On” in Central Park.

“When we turn the lights on, we’re also going to have a mailbox that all the kiddos can come and drop off letters to Santa as well, which we are going to collect on Christmas Eve so that we can send them to Santa just in time,” Wentsch said.
