Longhorns vs. Aggies tickets soar as fans prepare for epic showdown

Tickets for the highly anticipated Longhorns versus Aggies game at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium are fetching steep prices, with some seats costing close to $500 for two tickets on Ticketmaster.

Myrna and Britt Dalton, Texas A&M fans from Temple, are in town for the game. “It is exciting. It’s very exciting. We just can’t wait for the game tomorrow,” Myrna Dalton said.

Britt Dalton added, “It’s a big deal to have Longhorns back in the SEC. Just great. We’ve been here a while. Longhorns’ back is going to make it much more personal for both sides in this rivalry again.”

The two teams played for the first time in over a decade last year, but the game was in College Station. This year’s game returns to Austin for the first time since 2010.

Despite not having tickets yet, the Daltons plan to purchase them on game day. Myrna noted, “They were, the last time I looked, they started at about $500 apiece, so.” Meanwhile, Reese and Ian Pham, University of Texas students, reported even higher prices. “My mom and dad were looking at them, and the upper bowl was like 700 bucks, which is insane,” Reese Pham said.

Reese Pham went to last year’s game at Texas A&M, recounting, “The atmosphere was great, and it was great to kind of shut them up in their own stadium. Kyle Field is known for being loud, and when we got them to zip it, it was great.”

For the Pham family, the game is a cherished tradition. Ian Pham shared, “It’s really special that I get to go to the same college as my sister, go to these games together, and even my dad went to Texas, and my mom’s an Aggie. So it’s all pretty close together, and it’s fun.”

It’s why Reese and Ian are camping out with friends to secure better seats, making the most of their college experience. “We’re just kind of trying to do that for our last game since all my friends are seniors and it’s his freshman year,” Reese said.

The Daltons emphasize the game’s significance, with Britt sharing with Ian and Reese, “Suck it all in. This is an opportunity you will not want to miss, and you’ll remember it the rest of your life.”

Kickoff for tomorrow’s game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
