Boy knife crime suspect due in court after blade recovered at Merry Hill shopping centre in Brierley Hill

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and is due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (November 26).
It follows an operation by West Midlands Police Project Servator officers in Merry Hill shopping centre in Brierley Hill, on October 26.
Project Servator is a policing operation used to disrupt criminality in Dudley and other areas in the force.
A WMP spokesperson said: “Officers are specially-trained to spot the signs that someone may be planning to commit a crime, and deployments are made up of plain clothes and uniformed officers who carry out unpredictable deployments to reassure the public and disrupt criminal activity.”
