The iPhone 17 Pro was unveiled in September, Apple’s latest and greatest smartphone model – and one of the most sought-after gadgets for Black Friday and Christmas shoppers.

There’s no denying that the iPhone is expensive – it costs from £1099 – and the bad news is that there are no Black Friday deals on it. But there are ways for shoppers to save hundreds on a new iPhone 17 Pro when buying on contract – and I’ve got all the details.

The most affordable way to buy the iPhone 17 Pro is in this deal from GiffGaff for £42.06 a month with 25GB data and £25 upfront. It’s not the cheapest way to buy the handset – which I also reveal below – but it is the best deal.

GiffGaff offers a simpler approach to smartphones, offering fewer options and perks than big networks. But it runs on the O2 network, so it offers the same 5G connectivity. However, GiffGaff has no mid-contract price rises, so you pay the price you see.

GiffGaff offers fewer data tariffs, but for this deal, I picked the 25GB option, which is on an 18-month contract, meaning it can be switched sooner than many rival networks. Alternatively, GiffGaff offers 20GB on a monthly rolling contract, so shoppers could literally cancel the data contract after a month and move to something cheaper.

The iPhone 17 Pro is Apple’s latest phone with the most power, the best display and a new camera. It’s also expensive, but this deal brings the cost down.

Note that the iPhone 17 Pro handset contract is for 36 months – but it’s one of the cheapest handset plans across UK networks.

The iPhone 17 Pro got a fresh new design for 2025, with its striking new Cosmic Orange colour option and an expanded camera section on the rear that’s instantly recognisable. The camera was also upgraded from the iPhone 16 Pro, while the new A19 Pro chip runs the show for a fast and powerful experience.

My favourite feature – and currently unique to iPhone – is how the selfie camera can be switched from portrait to landscape without rotating the phone. It’s great for taking group photos and individual selfies without having to juggle the phone around.

The cheapest way to buy the iPhone 17 Pro

I mentioned that my top deal wasn’t the absolute cheapest way to buy the iPhone 17 Pro. That deal comes from Sky Mobile, where the iPhone 17 Pro is £37 a month with £12 upfront.

That sounds like a great deal, but at that price, there’s only 100MB of data on Sky’s free SIM, which isn’t enough to keep a normal person connected. If shoppers then choose a data package to compete with the GiffGaff offer, it’s more expensive, so stick to GiffGaff unless the plan is to use the phone on Wi-Fi and data isn’t needed.

Best iPhone 17 Pro deal for BIG data

Shoppers who want a lot of data can benefit from a Black Friday deal at Mobiles.co.uk. This deal works because it offers 5x the normal data, so 500GB for the price of 100GB. That’s huge data – but it’s still cheaper than unlimited offers from other networks.

The deal with iD Mobile (which runs on the Three network) gets shoppers the iPhone 17 Pro with 500GB data for £49.99 a month with £29 upfront.

This is a 24-month contract, and there are mid-contract price rises here, but the huge data at this price is the real attraction.

Best big network iPhone 17 Pro deal

Customers looking to stick to a big network (EE, O2, Three, Vodafone) will find that EE has one of the best deals currently. It gets the iPhone 17 Pro for £44.54 a month with £30 upfront.

This 36-month deal has 10GB of data, the only downside being that it’s on EE’s No Frills plan, so it has a slower data rate of 10Mbps than some rivals – most normal EE plans have 100Mbps (i.e., 10x faster data). Switching to a faster “Essentials” plan will get you 50GB for £46.64 a month – which is still a very competitive deal.

Again, with EE, there will be mid-contract price rises, but EE is known for good connectivity, wide UK coverage and fast and reliable signals.

The iPhone 17 Pro comes in three colours, including Cosmic Orange.

The final thing to note is that buying the iPhone 17 Pro from any network will increase the price paid for the actual handset: many of the deals here see shoppers paying £1192 for the handset over 3 years, even my favourite GiffGaff deal is £1179.16 – while the phone actually costs £1099.

Shoppers looking to save the most might want to consider buying the handset separately and pairing it with a low-cost SIM, like this 60GB for £8 a month from iD Mobile.

The iPhone is available from a range of retailers, but currently it’s priced the same everywhere:

The downside of this approach is funding the standalone phone purchase. While Apple offers 0% over 2 years, the others all offer payment instalments at 0%, which might make it easier to buy. However, check the terms and conditions – and remember that on all these deals, trade-in or selling an old device is a great way to bring the overall costs down.
