Bobby De Cordova-Reid has been handed his first Leicester City start in nine matches as one of three changes to the team to face Sheffield United.

The Jamaican attacking midfielder comes into the team in place of Oliver Skipp, and starts for the first time since the 3-1 win over Swansea at the beginning of October.

He will play in the most advanced of the midfield roles, with Jordan James then able to operate as a box-to-box midfielder.

It was how City finished the game at Norwich, when they produced an excellent final 20 minutes to claim victory.

City’s other changes were both expected, with Ricardo Pereira in for Hamza Choudhury at right-back and Luke Thomas back from his ban to play at left-back in place of the suspended Bade Aluko.

Number one goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk has not been passed fit and so Asmir Begovic continues in goal. It will be the veteran’s fourth straight start.

With Caleb Okoli joining Ben Nelson and Victor Kristiansen on the sidelines, there’s limited defensive cover on the bench, with Hamza Choudhury to fill in at full-back or centre-back if changes are needed in the back-line.

City (4-3-3): Begovic; Ricardo, Faes, Vestergaard, L Thomas; Winks, James, De Cordova-Reid; Fatawu, Daka, Mavididi.

Subs: Vieites, Choudhury, Soumare, Skipp, Page, S Thomas, Monga, Ayew, Carranza.
