FSU football vs Florida predictions, picks, odds. Who wins rivalry game?

Mike Norvell is focused on FSU football beating Florida
Mike Norvell describes FSU football’s mindset of finishing the season at Florida and getting its sixth win to be bowl eligible on Nov. 24, 2025.
The 2025 installment of the Florida-Florida State football rivalry pits two teams struggling their way to the end of moribund seasons. But don’t take that as a sign to skip this one; there’s no telling what will happen in The Swamp.
FSU has the most on the line. After last week’s 21-11 loss at NC State, the Seminoles (5-6) have one last chance to get bowl eligible. Coach Mike Norvell might be coming back, but if he wants fans on his side, he’ll have to beat their hated rival on the road — and FSU hasn’t won anything away from Tallahassee in their last 10 tries.
At 3-8, the Gators have nothing but pride to play for. Billy Gonzales is seeking his first win as interim coach after Billy Napier was fired Oct. 19. UF came into Doak Campbell Stadium and won last year’s game 31-11, then planted their flag at midfield and started a postgame skirmish. Florida is 38-28-2 all-time in the rivalry, with the 2024 victory snapping a two-year FSU win streak.

Florida State vs Florida predictions, picks for college football Week 14
Liam Rooney, Tallahassee Democrat
Florida 20, FSU 14: “Here’s where the real fun begins, because how do you even try to predict how two of the most inconsistent teams in the nation perform when squaring off? Stats favor the Seminoles, recent history with struggles on the road for those in Garnet and Gold, however, leans in favor of Florida. Don’t expect this game to go down as one of the all-time games in this rivalry.”
Kevin Brockway, Gainesville Sun
Florida 20, FSU 17: “Senior kicker Trey Smack will boot a game-winning field goal in the closing seconds to help Florida avoid its worst season since going 0-10-1 in 1979. Sophomore running back Jadan Baugh will rush for more than 100 yards and score 2 TDs to become UF’s first 1,000-yard rusher since Kelvin Taylor in 2015.”
Edgar Thompson, Orlando Sentinel
Florida 24, FSU 20: “On Senior Day at the Swamp, struggling Florida sets aside an embarrassing effort against Tennessee to end a four-game losing streak and play spoiler as the Seminoles fall a win shy of a bowl bid. Florida-Florida State, once among college football’s showcase games, has lost its luster outside of the Sunshine State. A close game decided in the fourth quarter Saturday shows this heated rivalry still generates excitement even when the stakes are low.”
JD McCarthy, FSU Wire
Florida 27, FSU 17: “Florida’s season is over after this game, but they have a chance to prevent FSU from reaching a bowl game, and they will get it done. The Seminoles have not won on the road since 2023, and they have looked good in any of their four road gams this year.”
