America’s most-used social media site isn’t Facebook, Instagram or TikTok

What is the most used social media site by Americans? Believe it or not, it’s not Facebook, Instagram or TikTok.
According to The Hill, polling from Pew Research Center said it is a site many don’t recognize as a social media site: YouTube.
Polling by Pew Research of more than 5,000 U.S. adults found 84% had used YouTube, the highest amount of any platform. Coming second was Facebook, used by 71% of adults.
Fifty percent of American adults said they used Instagram, followed by TikTok at 37%, WhatsApp at 37%, Reddit at 26%, Snapchat at 25% and X (Twitter) at 21%.
Eight percent of U.S. adults said they’ve used Meta’s Threads, which is similar to the original Twitter. About 4% of U.S. adults use Twitter-founder Jack Dorsey’s Bluesky and 3% use President Donald Trump’s Truth Social.
Pew Research’s polling found age differences among social media users. Facebook’s main users tend to be older (30-49 year olds are its biggest percentage of users, followed by people 65 and over) than YouTube.
Younger adults are more likely to use Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Reddit and YouTube over most other sites.
