Police investigate reported incident at Town Center Mall in Boca Raton

BOCA RATON, Fla. (CBS12) — Reports of possible gunshots at Town Center at Boca Raton led to a heavy presence of police on Saturday afternoon.
The Boca Raton Police Department (BRPD) tells CBS12 News that officers were dispatched after receiving calls about shots fired at the popular shopping destination. However, investigators say there is currently no evidence of a shooting.
“It appears a physical altercation occurred in the food court area,” the spokesperson said. “Officers remain on scene investigating.”

Authorities have not reported any injuries related to gunfire, and the situation is under control. Police are continuing to gather information and interview witnesses to determine what led to the disturbance.
Shoppers were advised to avoid the area while the investigation continues. BRPD has not released details about the individuals involved in the altercation.
