LIVE UPDATES: What to know ahead of the winter‑storm warning for all of SE Wisconsin this weekend

Storm Team 4 is monitoring an impactful and long-duration winter storm moving into Wisconsin Friday night. A winter storm warning has been issued for all of southern Wisconsin, effective early Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday.

Travel warning

Travel conditions will deteriorate throughout Saturday as ½- to 1-inch-per-hour snowfall rates lower visibility and snow accumulates on roadways.

If possible, completing travel today or early Saturday morning is encouraged. Postponing travel until Sunday is also recommended.

Saturday, 4:07 p.m. — Milwaukee County DPW deploying additional heavy machinery
The Milwaukee County Department of Public Works said crews were able to do some work on residential streets throughout the day. Still, their primary focus has been on clearing main roads.

Additional pieces of heavy equipment are now being deployed to assist, as snow is expected to continue throughout the evening and overnight.

Saturday, 9:40 a.m. — Town of Sheboygan declares snow emergency
The Town of Sheboygan has declared a snow emergency from Saturday until Sunday at 6 p.m. to facilitate snow removal operations for the community. All Town of Sheboygan residents are reminded that during a declared snow emergency parking on any public roadway is prohibited. Residents should move any vehicles to driveways or garages for the duration of the Emergency. This will allow Public Works personnel to clear snow and allow for movement of Emergency Vehicles. Plowing operations will continue to open roadways, public facilities, and schools. Nonessential travel is not recommended during storm conditions.

Saturday, 8:57 a.m. — Village of Saukville declares snow emergency
The Village of Saukville has declared a Snow Emergency effective Saturday at 2 p.m. until Sunday at noon. As a reminder, Village Ordinance 192-7, I. states: “No person shall park or leave unattended any vehicle of any kind or description upon any Village street during a declared snow emergency. All vehicles shall be promptly removed from Village streets immediately at the time when the declared snow emergency takes effect.

Saturday, 8:47 a.m. — Town of Butler declares snow emergency
The Village of Butler is declaring a snow emergency from noon Saturday through 8 a.m. on Sunday due to the ongoing snow storm. All vehicles must be removed from the street by that time. All vehicles not removed from the street will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense. Residents may utilize the two municipal lots one block north and south of West Hampton Avenue on 126th Street, and the parking lot at Frontier Park.

9:01 p.m. — Village of Greendale declares snow emergency
The Village of Greendale is declaring a snow emergency from noon Saturday through 5 p.m. Sunday. Vehicles left on the street after the start of the snow emergency will be subject to being plowed in or towed at the owner’s expense. If parking is needed, municipal parking lots are available.

6:22 p.m. — Village of Grafton declares snow emergency
The Village of Grafton has declared a snow emergency effective at 11 a.m. Saturday due to the significant winter storm expected to impact the area this weekend. Vehicles left on village streets during the snow emergency may be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense. Property owners are reminded that sidewalks must be cleared within 24 hours after snowfall ends, as required by ordinance.

3:54 p.m. — City of Janesville declares snow emergency
The City of Janesville has declared a winter weather emergency beginning at 2 a.m. Saturday. A winter weather emergency means that all parked vehicles must be removed from city streets until snow and ice control operations are complete.

3:54 p.m. — Village of Mount Pleasant declares snow emergency
The Village of Mount Pleasant has declared a snow emergency from midnight Saturday until midnight Sunday. Parking restrictions will be in effect during this time. For a full list of affected streets, see the Village ordinances.

3:48 p.m. — Sheboygan all-day alternate-side parking
Since winter parking has not yet begun in Sheboygan, authorities are asking residents to practice all-day alternate-side parking starting at 7 a.m. Saturday throughout the snow event. Drivers should park on the odd side of the street on Saturday and the even side of the street starting at midnight Sunday. Winter parking rules officially start at midnight Monday.

2:03 p.m. — City of Franklin issues snow emergency
The City of Franklin has issued a snow emergency from 8 a.m. Saturday until 8 a.m. Monday. No street parking will be allowed during this timeframe.

12:51 p.m. — Village of Grafton’s 2025 Christmas Parade postponed
The Village of Grafton has postponed its 2025 Christmas Parade, originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 29, according to the Grafton Area Chamber of Commerce.

The parade has been tentatively rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at 11 a.m.

12:04 p.m. — Milwaukee Admirals Saturday game move to Sunday
Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced Friday that, because of the pending winter storm, they have moved their home game against Rockford originally scheduled for Saturday night at 6 p.m. to Sunday, Nov. 30, at 4 p.m.

Fans who have tickets for Saturday’s game can use them on Sunday with no further action required.

10:23 a.m. — The City of Kenosha issues a snow emergency
The City of Kenosha has issued a snow emergency, in effect from noon Saturday, Nov. 29, until 7 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1. Parking is prohibited on all city streets during a Snow Emergency.
