Thunder Rosa Rips WWE Booking and Blasts John Cena’s Loss to Brock Lesnar as “Pointless”

Thunder Rosa didn’t mince words while discussing WWE’s booking choices during her Survivor Series preview on the Busted Open Podcast.
The AEW star went off on how John Cena’s final run has been handled—especially when it came to his loss to Brock Lesnar—and she wasn’t buying the company’s logic for it. Rosa straight-up called the booking decision “pointless” and chalked it up to behind-the-scenes politics.
“Certain things I didn’t agree with—like him losing to Brock Lesnar. I was not okay with that. It was pointless. I mean, come on—like… but whatever. You know, politics.”
That wasn’t the only shot she fired. Rosa also took aim at WWE’s habit of making lofty promises about pushing younger talent—without actually doing it. Speaking about Cena’s current feud with Dominik Mysterio, she said the time to deliver is now.
“If you are saying certain things and you’re retiring, you better be doing it. Otherwise, just don’t say them just to look good.”
Rosa praised the storyline involving Cena and Dominik, calling it “fun” and even praised a recent segment involving “Mini John Cena.” But when it comes to Survivor Series at Petco Park, she made it crystal clear what needs to happen:
“Dominik needs to win… John Cena needs to put his money where his mouth is.”
It’s rare to hear such blunt truth from someone in the business—especially when it’s directed at a legend like Cena. But Rosa didn’t hesitate to put WWE on blast for what she sees as an empty farewell tour unless it ends with Cena actually passing the torch.
