Possible Spoiler on WWE’s Direction for John Cena at Survivor Series 2025

John Cena might not be passing the torch just yet. A new report suggests WWE is planning for Cena to walk out of Survivor Series with his Intercontinental Championship reign still intact—and Dominik Mysterio could be the one eating the loss.
During Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez revealed what he’s heard about the current direction for WWE’s storyline involving Cena and Dominik. And while plans can always shift, this one sounds pretty locked in—for now.
“John won the title from Dominik. Well, here’s the thing… what I know is that the plan — and plans can change — the plan is that John Cena is beating Dominik.”
If that holds, Cena will successfully retain the Intercontinental Title at Survivor Series, denying Dominik Mysterio the chance to spoil Cena’s farewell run. The match has already become personal, with Dom trying every trick in the book to rattle Cena with verbal shots, cheap tactics, and mind games leading into their clash.
WWE has built this feud around legacy, ego, and redemption—and Cena keeping the belt adds more weight to whatever final match he has down the line. For now, though, Dominik may be stuck in the role of stepping stone rather than spoiler.
Will WWE stick to this plan or throw in a twist at the last second? With Survivor Series just around the corner, all eyes will be on what Cena’s next move is—and whether Dominik has any surprises left.
Should John Cena beat Dominik Mysterio at Survivor Series, or is it time to put someone new over? Drop your thoughts below—we want to hear what side you’re on.
