WWE Star ‘Sad’ He Wasn’t One Of John Cena’s Final Opponents

WWE

With just two matches left in his career, John Cena’s GOAT status has been commented upon by a top WWE star.

On November 29, John Cena defends his WWE Intercontinental Championship against Dominik Mysterio at Survivor Series WarGames.

This penultimate match will be followed by the last of Cena’s career at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow night’s WWE Premium Live Event, Drew McIntyre has reflected on John Cena’s multi-decade career.

During an appearance on ESPN, McIntyre contemplated the rise of Cena and his GOAT status, saying:

“I mean, he’s meant everything to our industry. When The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin left WWE the top superstars like Triple H and Shawn Michaels were at the end of their careers; the company and the world needed somebody to step up to that top position.

“John stepped up in a massive way for multiple generations, and it’s insane to say he’s about to have his last couple of matches.

“I’m sad I didn’t get one of them, but I’m glad I’m part of the roster. I’m glad I got to travel the world. I’m glad I got to learn from John Cena because he is a legend and he might just be the GOAT.”

Cena’s final opponent will be decided through the Last Time Is Now Tournament that is currently underway.

Currently in contention for the position of Cena’s last opponent on December 13 are GUNTHER, Jey Uso, LA Knight and Solo Sikoa.
