Diego Pavia’s father and brother arrested at Tennessee-Vanderbilt game hours after being warned by Vols staff

Vanderbilt Commodores quarterback Diego Pavia’s father and brother found themselves in trouble on Saturday night. They were in attendance at Neyland Stadium to watch his game against the Tennessee Volunteers.
As per a few posts on social media, Pavia’s father and brother ended up being arrested from the stadium. In the photos circulating online, we see both of them being handcuffed by police and being escorted out of the stadium.

According to reporter Sam Granville, Diego Pavia’s family was warned by the Vols field staff not to sit in the front row. However, the quarterback’s dad and brother refused to do so. This led to a verbal altercation between them and the Vols staff before their arrest.
“The Pavia family has been warned by @Vols_Sports field staff that they cannot sit or hang over the front row. The brothers fought back saying ‘The SEC has the same rules everywhere, is should be no different.’ And ‘We’re about to take over this state, you’ll find out.'” Granville tweeted.
On the field, Pavia led the Commodores to a dominating 45-24 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers. The quarterback completed 18 of 28 passes for 268 yards and two total touchdowns with two interceptions to his name.
Following this win, the Commodores end the regular season with a 10-2 (6-2 SEC) record and a three-game winning streak. Last week, former NFL TE Jordan Matthews highlighted how Pavia should be a contender for this season’s Heisman.
“This dude is the most competitive guy in college football,” Matthews said on the SEC Network. “I’m telling you, Diego Pavia has totally changed this culture. … He is the Heisman contender, I know that. But to me, he’s the most important player in the country to this team.”
Diego Pavia shares his honest thoughts on being a Heisman contender
After Saturday’s victory, the Vanderbilt Commodores quarterback had a sideline interview with ESPN. He was questioned about hitting the Heisman pose after scoring a rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Pavia let it be known that he wants to be a finalist for this season’s Heisman.
“Take me to New York, you know.” Pavia said. “I feel like you gonna look at the numbers, you look at what we got here. And obviously we did something that’s never been done. It’s just a blessing man. To be here on this day, something I dreamed about since I was a kid.”
The No.14 Commodores have made a great case for themselves as playoff contenders this season. Following the victory over the Vols, Diego Pavia created history by helping the program to its first 10-win campaign.
