‘No India A match, no party’ – Fans brutally roast Ruturaj Gaikwad after failure on ODI comeback

Team India batter Ruturaj Gaikwad failed to deliver with the bat in the first ODI of the three-match series against South Africa at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi on Sunday, November 30. Fans were furious as the batter failed to score in his comeback game for the national cricket team in ODI cricket.
India were without Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer for the ongoing ODI series. Ruturaj was included in the playing XI ahead of players like Rishabh Pant and Tilak Varma. The right-handed batter impressed with his batting in the recent one-dayers against South Africa A and secured the Player of the Series award.
Ruturaj Gaikwad Arrives at the Crease After Rohit Sharma’s Dismissal
After losing the toss, Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal walked to the crease. Jaiswal managed to score 18 runs off 16 balls before being dismissed by Nandre Burger. Rohit and Virat Kohli added 136 runs for the second wicket after the early dismissal. The duo attacked the bowlers and reached their half-centuries.
Your daily dose of cricket!
However, Marco Jansen provided the breakthrough for his team by dismissing Rohit. The left-arm fast bowler trapped the opener in front of the stumps. Rohit scored 57 runs off 51 balls with the help of five boundaries and three fours. Ruturaj Gaikwad came to the crease at No. 4 for the first time in his ODI career.
Ruturaj Gaikwad Walks In With High Expectations but Perishes Early
Ruturaj Gaikwad walked in with plenty of expectations after his strong India A performances, but his stay at the crease was brief. The right-handed batter couldn’t make the most of the opportunity or score big in his comeback game.
Gaikwad played a drive at a delivery outside off from Ottneil Baartman. Dewald Brevis then stunned everyone with an incredible one-handed catch at backward point. Brevis dived to his right and snatched the ball out of the air, leaving the crowd gasping.
Gaikwad walked back, visibly disappointed. The Maharashtra batter scored 8 off 14 balls before heading to the dressing room. He is unlikely to get a long run in the Indian setup, considering the competition for every spot.

Ruturaj scores 8(14). His strike rate is 57 while his team’s strike rate is 115.
What was the point of picking Ruturaj in the squad ahead of Sai Sudarshan?
What was the point of picking Ruturaj in the XI ahead of Rishabh Pant?
Really braindead selection and planning by India
