When Will Spotify Wrapped 2025 Be Released? Here’s What We Know

The end of the year is closing in, and our calendars are packed with exciting events. But if there’s one moment in the year music lovers are eagerly awaiting (perhaps more than Christmas and New Year’s), it’s Spotify Wrapped.

The annual event can be relied upon to trigger memes, arguments and confessionals. It also serves as an annual mental health report. How much sad girl music were you blasting this year? Did you make it into the top 0.01% of Taylor Swift fans? Did you spend another year listening to the Wicked playlist? There’s no hiding your secrets from Spotify Wrapped.

Spotify Wrapped is a joyful moment in culture because it brings how we perceive ourselves most of the time (extremely cool) and what our listening data actually shows (nothing you’d confess at gunpoint). And it reminds us of the age-old social function of music – while we now spend 95% of our music-listening time alone, on one Spotify Wrapped day, we’re briefly united in music discourse, mutual embarrassment, and unabashed fandom.

Another thing that makes Spotify Wrapped so special? Unlike New Year’s and Christmas, it can happen at any moment.

When Is Spotify Wrapped 2025?

There’s no set date for Spotify Wrapped. Spotify Wrapped usually launches between November 29 and December 5, resulting in a period of delicious uncertainty. Last year, Spotify Wrapped occurred late in the game on December 4th. In 2023, it fell on November 29th; in 2022, on November 30th and in 2021, on December 1st.

This year, it’s been speculated that Spotify Wrapped will land on December 3 or 4, but we can’t know for sure.

What we do know is that Spotify has teased the arrival by updating the app and launching its dedicated Wrapped landing page. It has also been prompting users to update their Spotify apps.

When Did Spotify Wrapped Start Tracking In 2025?

What time period will contribute to your Spotify Wrapped 2025? Did your December 2024 heartbreak make it into this year’s playlist? Or your recent Stranger Things-induced Kate Bush binge be included in the data? There’s been a lack of clarity around when Spotify Wrapped starts and stops tracking our music data — for a long time, it was thought to stop collecting data on October 31 of each year. But in 2024, the company clarified that the deadline was November 20 and that it starts collecting data again on January 1 of each year. Essentially, you have carte blanche to play your most embarrassing Christmas favourites in December.

Who Were The Top Streamed Artists In 2024?

In 2024, Taylor Swift took out top streamed artist (shock), followed by The Weeknd and Bad Bunny. The most-streamed song was “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter. It’s anyone’s bet who this year’s will be.

Is Spotify Wrapped Out Yet?

No. Spotify Wrapped has not been released yet, but as we welcome December, we know the date will be soon.
