Shea Lacey set to feature vs Crystal Palace – Man United News And Transfer News

Despite the disappointing loss to Everton, there was a small silver lining in the form of Shea Lacey sitting on the bench.
The 18-year-old has been threatening to explode for quite some time now, and would have done so by now if not for injuries.
Finally this season, the Carrington wonderkid is injury-free, and he caught Ruben Amorim’s eye, both in training and during the post-season tour to Asia.
The England U20 international came mighty close to making the matchday squad against Sunderland, but narrowly missed out. He did finally appear against the Toffees.
Shea Lacey set to feature vs Palace
Even though he did not manage to come on, the Liverpool-born attacker must have clearly made an impression on the head coach, with Centredevils revealing that he is all set for another chance against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
“Lacey made the bench in the Red Devil’s game last weekend against Everton, but he didn’t end up getting any minutes. Now, he is set to get handed another opportunity by Ruben Amorim.
“CentreDevils understands that Shea Lacey is set to be in the Manchester United squad against Crystal Palace tomorrow. The 18-year-old academy talent was with the travelling squad earlier today and also trained with the first team again.”
The report further mentions that Amorim does not want to push the versatile attacker too much, in a bid to avoid any injury recurrence.
Shea Lacey deserves his chance
Even if he does not come on at Selhurst Park, more chances are expected to come next month when Amad, Bryan Mbeumo, and Noussair Mazraoui all depart for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Apart from club level, Shea Lacey has also been turning heads on the international stage. He recently trained with the England senior team after being called up by Thomas Tuchel.
He was also invited to train with the England U21s, and earned plaudits from the U20 national boss.
The forward has three goals and two assists for United’s U21s, and it is only a matter of time before we see him excelling for the first team.
