First Alert Forecast: Bitter cold air has returned to the Midstate

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Big weather changes are coming this weekend and next week.
NEXT 24 HOURS
A bitterly cold start to our Black Friday, with temperatures in the 20s as we’re headed out the door this morning. This afternoon will be chilly but sunny, with highs in the low to mid-40s, and some high elevations may remain in the 30s.
Tonight will be very cold again, with lows in the 20s by tomorrow morning. Clouds increase overnight.

FRIDAY’S FORECAST
MORNING – Frigid and frosty start. Temperatures in the 20s
AFTERNOON – Staying chilly and mostly sunny. Highs in the mid to upper 40s.
EVENING – Increasing clouds, staying cold. Lows in the 30s
WEEKEND OUTLOOK
Clouds will be back on Saturday with temperatures near 50 in the afternoon. The first half of the day will be dry, but look for showers to return in west Middle Tennessee around mid-afternoon and for the rest of the Midstate around dinner time. Off and on showers will continue Saturday night with a couple of rumbles of thunder as well.
Rain will mostly taper off by Sunday morning, but a couple of showers will try and hang around early in the day. We’ll try and get some sunshine back Sunday afternoon with temperatures falling back into the 40s
NEXT WEEK
Monday will stay chilly, and we’re tracking another system that arrives late Monday evening through Tuesday. This system could throw some hints of wintry weather in parts of the Midstate.
High temperatures are in the 40s for many days.
