What’s the story

Corbin Bosch tried his level best but ultimately it wasn’t enough as South Africa lost the 1st ODI against India by a 17-run margin in Ranchi on Sunday.
The Proteas were 227/6 in the 31st over when Bosch arrived. And soon, the visitors were 228/7 in the same over.
It was Bosch’s heroics that helped South Africa get to 332 while chasing 350.

Bosch takes over the mantle and offers a fight

All-rounder Bosch showed his batting prowess as he almost pulled off a miracle.
SA were in the contest but the wickets of Matthew Breetzke and Marco Jansen in the 31st over brought India back.
However, Bosch took over the mantle and played his shots. He took the game close and stitched mini partnerships with Prenelan Subrayen and Nandre Burger.
Prasidh Krishna dismissed Bosch eventually.

Maiden fifty for Bosch

Bosch’s knock of 67 from 51 balls had 5 fours and 4 sixes. He struck at 131.37. This is now his maiden ODI fifty. In 10 matches, he has 232 runs from 8 innings at 46.40. His strike rate is 104.97.
