Alejandro Garnacho has shared several photos on social media that showcase he’s loving his new life in London, following his summer switch from Manchester United to Chelsea.

The first is of him holding the hand of his two-year-old son Enzo at what appears to be Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. Another shows him watching the fifth and final season of the television series Stranger Things.

A fourth image shows off a painting that depicts half of him as the comic book superhero Batman. The other half shows him in a Chelsea home shirt with smudged makeup on, akin to that of the supervillain Joker. Garnacho also references Batman in his 20th and final picture.

The image is a still from the film The Dark Knight. It shows actor Christian Bale looking at Batman’s suit, and added to the photo are the words “No Risk No Story”.

The post also features the Manchester United shirts of Amad and Kobbie Mainoo laid out on a bed. The pair swapped shirts with him after United beat Chelsea at Old Trafford in September.

Several of his former team-mates also liked the post, including Bruno Fernandes, Patrick Dorgu and Manuel Ugarte. Alvaro Fernandez Carreas, whom he played with in the club’s academy, also commented with two fire emojis.

United sold Chelsea the Argentina international three months ago, two days before the summer transfer window closed. That move was the first of his professional career, having never previously played outside of Madrid before joining United’s academy in October 2020.

He has played 11 times since the switch, scoring twice and assisting another two goals for his team-mates. Those assists came in his last Premier League outing, a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

After that match, his head coach, Enzo Maresca, spoke at length about the player. He said: “Garna played a fantastic game on the ball, but he was also top without the ball. Pedro Neto was exactly the same, and this is what we need from our wingers.

“He [Garnacho] arrived here from another club where he was not training 100 per cent, so his physical condition was not good. Slowly, slowly [we have worked on that] and now it’s better.

“He is doing very well on the ball and is doing well off the ball. He knows that, to play with us, he has to be good on the ball and off the ball. We are very happy with him in this moment.”

Ruben Amorim bristled when asked about Garnacho before his return to Old Trafford earlier this autumn. He said: “Garnacho is not our player.”

Asked again, Amorim added: “Guys, I’m not concerned about that. I just want to win games. I don’t care who plays for the opponent, what people are going to say in the end, or if the other player is going to play well. They are good players, and they will play well if things happen. I’m just focused on winning the game. That is my only concern.”
