Truth behind Tina O’Brien’s shock split from Adam Fadle – and his brutal swipe at Corrie star revealed

WITH her arm draped around his shoulder and a huge smile on her face, Tina O’Brien looked very much like a woman in the first throes of love as she enjoyed luxury holidays, lavish meals out and sexy weekends away.

But just as quickly as it started the Corrie star’s whirlwind relationship with millionaire Adam Fadle is over – and insiders have told us the shocking truth of what really happened behind closed doors, plus who really pulled the plug.

We can reveal that it was actually interior designer Adam who ended things with the Sarah Platt star. Rather than being taken with her glam life in the public eye, we’re told it ended up being a huge turn-off for him.

Our insider said: “He was the one who wanted out and ended it. In a brutal swipe he said it ended up being like something out of a Coronation Street storyline.”

His comment may have appeared harsh, but Tina’s life is not short of drama – just like her on-screen character Sarah, who is well known for her messy love life – and it isn’t the first time that life has imitated art in Tina’s case.

The 42-year-old met the rich hunk just four months after the end of her marriage to personal trainer Adam Crofts.

Tina and Adam, who share a son Beau together, were married for six years before splitting in March of this year. 

He wants the door shut on that period of his life.

Insider on how Adam feels

Before that she dated Ryan Thomas from 2003 to 2009 and had daughter Scarlett.

The pair’s split was fraught and involved a number of public spats. 

And her history is said to have an impact on her new romance.

The insider continued: “Adam basically said it’s too complicated because she’s still married to her ex – and it doesn’t sound like that divorce is moving fast.

“He was keen to make a proper go of it with Tina but the fact she’s still married and her husband is part of her life because of the child they have together… it was all too weird in the end.”

Tina has already cut all ties with Adam and deleted all images of them from her social media.

Adam is also said to be moving on, with our source adding: “Adam has been sliding into girls’ DMs since the split and has been pretty open about his split with Tina. He’s wasting no time in moving on from her 

“He wants the door shut on that period of his life and wants to get back into the dating scene.”

Adam No2, aged 38, studied architecture before opening his interior design business in 2010 and is a millionaire design guru loved by footballers like Paul Pogba.

The pair were understood to have met through friends in Cheshire where they both live.

The connection between them was said to be instant and they were spotted “snogging like teenagers” on dog walks together.

In July, Tina brought her then-boyfriend to Jack P. Shepherd’s star-studded wedding and the pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other as they left the glam reception.

They also holidayed in Greece, and headed to the luxury Carden Park with her eldest daughter Scarlett, 17, also in attendance – showing just how much he had slotted into the family. 

But amid all the glamour, Tina was still busy working on the ITV soap, juggling parenthood and then dealing with the death of her beloved father.

The star kept everyone in the dark about what was going on with her dad, and shared the news this week when she felt ready.

In a heartbreaking post, she told her followers: “I’ve been a little quiet on here. My dad died recently. I haven’t quite known how to put it into words.

“My heart is very heavy but I’m grateful he is no longer suffering.”

Tina added: “Thank you to everyone who’s held me steady through this difficult time.

“I love you. You mean the world to me.”

Little did her fans know that she had also been going through a break-up behind the scenes.

MARRIAGE BREAKDOWN

It wasn’t that long ago that Tina was dealing with the breakdown of her marriage of seven years. 

Tina and personal trainer Adam started dating in 2011 before they tied the knot in 2018 with a surprise wedding – after telling everyone it was just a New Year’s Eve party.

But last year things started to fall apart and they started to lead very separate lives. At the start of the year Tina flew to Barbados with Scarlett while Adam took their little boy Beau skiing.

Friends close to the pair hoped it would be their chance to think about what they really wanted and give things another go, but they agreed the decision to split was for the best.

The break-up was certainly more amicable than when her relationship with fellow actor Ryan came to an end after six years.  

Tina, who first played Sarah on the cobbles in 1999, began dating Ryan in 2003 after she split from Corrie actor Bruno Langley, who played Ryan’s on-screen brother Todd Grimshaw.

But just a year after they welcomed daughter Scarlett, who now stars in Waterloo Road, Ryan ended things. 

At the time Tina said: “He said I didn’t do it for him anymore.

“I was absolutely devastated.

“He said he didn’t want the responsibility of a relationship with me.”

While relations were initially civil between them, they soon turned sour and things came to a head in 2022 when Tina was accused of smashing Ryan’s car with a baseball bat after a furious late-night row.

Sources told The Sun that tempers flared at 1am after Tina had been partying with pals.

A wing mirror of Ryan’s Range Rover was smashed off and the paintwork scratched during the bust-up.

‘LIFE IMITATING ART’

Her character Sarah was married to Ryan’s character Jason Grimshaw, while she also had flings with Gary Windass and Todd Grimshaw.

On screen Sarah is now dating police officer Kit Green, but before that she had a passionate affair with criminal Damon Hay, while married to Adam Barlow.

Two years later, Tina’s life once again resembled a Corrie scene, when she was caught in the middle of a vicious brawl between teenage girls near her home.

The 5ft 1in actress threw punches and put one in a headlock — but was also hit and had her hair pulled.

It was a huge shock for both her family and fans, but life appeared to calm down after that, until she split from Adam and moved on to Adam No.2.

Yesterday the actress was spotted looking downcast as she walked her dog in Cheshire – her PDA packed strolls from just a few months ago now a distant memory. 

But just like her on-screen character, we’re sure she’ll bound back in no time.
