Where Bears sit in NFC playoff picture after Rams’ Week 13 loss to Panthers

The Chicago Bears were idle on Sunday after playing their Week 13 game on Thanksgiving, but they still managed to move up in the NFC playoff picture.

That’s because the Los Angeles Rams lost to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in what was a surprising result that enabled the Bears, who are in first place in their division, to move into the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

Here’s a look at the updated NFC playoff picture.

While the Bears and Rams have the same record, Chicago owns the tie-breaker over Los Angeles because of a superior conference record.

The Bears are sitting with a 6-2 mark in the NFC, while Los Angeles sports a 4-3 conference mark.

The Bears will look to hold to on their grip on the No. 1 seed in the conference when they do battle with the Green Bay Packers next week, a matchup that will also be for first place in the NFC North.

Meanwhile, the Rams will draw a matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, who were eliminated from playoff contention on Sunday.
