Grocery wholesaler Metcash has posted a moderate rise in first-half revenue after losing more than $340 million in tobacco sales as the group’s independent network continues to grapple with the trade in illegal cigarettes.
Metcash is the largest supplier to independent supermarkets in Australia and its IGA brand is the best known.
