Your Monthly Horoscopes: December 2025

Welcome to your December horoscope! It’s hard to believe that we’ve made it to the end of 2025. In some ways, the year ends like it began with the generational outer planets Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto all back in the same positions where they started. From late spring through early fall, we experienced what 2026 and onward will feel like with these planets all in new signs. But for now, you might be feeling like you’re back in the same place you were back in January, maybe even working on the same project you were then.

December kicks off with a full moon in Gemini on the 4th. Usually the Gemini full moon is one of the most chaotic days of the year, but this one is more reserved. Mercury—the communication planet that rules Gemini—fresh out of retrograde, will be in Scorpio, a sign that speaks more in glances than words. Mercury enters Sagittarius on the 11th. Mercury was last in the freewheeling fire sign from October 29th through November 18th. Confusions from back then may finally clear up at this time, with everyone feeling emboldened to speak their mind.

Overall energy is very sluggish for the first half the month with Mars—the planet that gets us out of bed in the morning—facing roadblocks with Saturn on the 8th, and then feeling hazy from a square with Neptune through the 14th. The new moon in Sagittarius on the 19th doubles down on this sleepy, frustrated energy, with intentions set here being more about the long game than fiery Sagittarian whims. But thankfully for the last-minute holiday rush, Mars enters Capricorn on the 15th, where the action planet acts like an ultra competent chief of staff, allowing more immediate projects to pick and things to get done.

The winter solstice arrives along with Capricorn season on the 21st—happy solar return to our industrious seagoats! Then Venus joins the sun and Mars in the cardinal earth sign on the 24th. Coming in January, there will be an important reset around all things Capricorn (i.e. quality control, ties that bind, and what’s meant to last), and that story begins here in December.

(Horoscopes follow for each sign. If you know your rising sign, reading for that sign may provide further insight.)
