Bobby Wagner Records Second Interception of the Season Against Denver Broncos

In a thrilling Sunday Night Football matchup, former Utah State linebacker Bobby Wagner showcased his defensive prowess by securing his second interception of the season during Week 13 against the Denver Broncos. The play came when Broncos quarterback Bo Nix targeted wide receiver Pat Bryant approximately 15 yards downfield, only to find Wagner strategically positioned at the sticks, leading to a crucial turnover.
This interception marked a notable achievement for Wagner, a seasoned 14-year NFL veteran. Historically, he has recorded more than one interception in just four seasons, predominantly known for his tackling ability and football intelligence rather than elite coverage skills. With five games remaining in the 2025 season, there is potential for Wagner to tie or surpass his career-high of three interceptions, a record set during his rookie year.
Following Wagner’s pivotal play, the Commanders capitalized on the turnover, adding three points to push the score to 20-17 in the fourth quarter. In this matchup against the Broncos, Wagner also contributed significantly with six total tackles, including two solo efforts.
Wagner’s illustrious career began at Utah State, where he honed his skills before being selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He played a key role in Seattle’s victory in Super Bowl XLVIII in 2013 and spent a decade with the team before joining a rival, the Los Angeles Rams, on March 31, 2022. The Rams faced challenges in the 2022 season, finishing with a 5-12 record and missing the playoffs after their recent Super Bowl win. Nevertheless, Wagner had an impressive season, amassing 140 total tackles, 81 solo tackles, six sacks, two interceptions, and five pass breakups.
