Sixers injury news: Joel Embiid’s final playing status vs. Hawks

PHILADELPHIA — As the Philadelphia 76ers prepared to take on the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday evening, they had some questions to answer on the injury report. They had three players, including Joel Embiid, all listed as questionable to play in this one.
Embiid, who hasn’t played since Nov. 8 due to a bothersome right knee injury, will play against the Hawks. He has been working to get back on the floor in an effort to help this team move forward in the standings in the East.
VJ Edgecombe will return to the floor as well after he missed three games due to a left calf issue. Both he and Embiid will be in the starting lineup.
As for Andre Drummond (right knee sprain), he will play in this one.
The Sixers and the Hawks will tip off at 6 p.m. EST. That will be the first time in the 2025-26 season that Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey will all play together. It will be just the 19th game the three of them have played together in total after playing only 18 together in the 2024-25 season.
