8 New Directions For WWE After Survivor Series: WarGames 2025 – Page 5

A lot of the spotlight went to tension between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns right at the end of the men’s WarGames match. CM Punk was in the thick of it too, and he pointed out that Cody had accidentally elbowed him closer to the start of the bout. Meanwhile, Roman told Rhodes that this would be the last time they’d ever team up together as partners in WWE.
Does anyone else smell a Triple Threat cooking? Admittedly, it’d be tricky whilst Cody and Punk hold titles, because which one do you put up for grabs? It could work as a non-title 3-way to get some anger out of their systems at SNME if WWE fancies loading up the card though. Then, creative might go from that to Roman challenging Cody at Royal Rumble, or something similar.
Reportedly, WWE management fancy booking Reigns vs. Punk in a feature attraction at WrestleMania 42. There’s also been talk of Roman vs. Seth Rollins, but a match between the ‘OTC’ and Punk sounds tastier. To get there, the promotion may burn through one more Roman vs. Cody match at the Rumble, then sprint straight into Reigns challenging Punk.
If Roman dropping to defeat clean in a WWE Title match before challenging for the World Title sounds crap, then book drama between Reigns and Punk at SNME in a Triple Threat, then have CM cost Roman the win at the Rumble. There’s really no end to the ways WWE could take all of this over the next few months.
The framing of camera shots at Survivors definitely teased a Triple Threat.
