WBBL|11 Hurricanes Squad Announcement vs Melbourne Stars

The Hobart Hurricanes return to WBBL action on Monday night at Ninja Stadium, in their second game in three days, this time playing against the Melbourne Stars.
Following their incredible WBBL record-breaking chase last night against the Perth Scorchers, the Hurricanes can guarantee a home WBBL final with a win against the Stars tomorrow night.
Their match against the Scorchers saw the ‘Cane Train bowl first again, with Molly Strano (2-23) taking two wickets in her first over, but from there it was all Perth as they finished their innings on 5-186 from their 20 overs.
Knowing it would take the highest-ever WBBL chase to win this match, the Hurricanes got off to a great start in the powerplay before Lizelle Lee (14 off 11) was dismissed, as Nat Sciver-Brunt strode out to the crease to bat with her English teammate, Danni Wyatt-Hodge (55 off 38).
Finishing the match on 81 off 48 balls, Sciver-Brunt dominated the Scorchers attack, and when she was dismissed, there were only 29 runs required off nearly as many balls, as Elyse Villani and Nic Carey guided the ‘Canes home.
Tomorrow’s match against the Stars sees both teams in a great position to host a WBBL Final, with the Hurricanes on 12 points and the Stars on 11, but with a game up their sleeve.
A win to the Hurricanes would all but assure a top-two position and a home final during finals week. A loss would see the Stars move into first.
The Hurricanes squad remains unchanged from the last match against the Scorchers, with the same 13 players included.
Amy Smith is unavailable for selection following a hamstring injury sustained during the WNCL season. Her fitness will be re-evaluated later in WBBL|11.
Tomorrow’s match begins at 7:10 pm AEDT at Ninja Stadium, Hobart.
The Hobart Hurricanes WBBL|11 squad for the match against the Stars is as follows:
